卡德尔·阿提亚(Kader Attia)生于1970年,出生于法国圣丹尼斯(Senna-Saint-Denis)。目前,他在柏林和阿尔及尔生活和工作。

 

卡德尔·阿提亚在阿尔及利亚和巴黎郊区成长,他利用这一双文化的生活经验作为起点,发展出一种动态的艺术实践,反映不同文化的美学和伦理。他以诗意和象征性的方式探讨西方现代文化霸权和殖民主义对非西方文化的广泛影响,研究历史和殖民时代的身份政治,从传统到现代,结合全球化的背景,为其创建一种谱系。近年来,他的研究重点集中在“修复”这一概念上,作为人性中的一种常态,现代西方思想与传统的非西方思想对其有着相对立的看法。从文化到自然,从性别到建筑,从科学到哲学,任何生活系统都是一个无限的修复过程。

 

他曾获得2017年胡安·米罗奖(Joan Miró Prize),并在2016年赢得了马塞尔·杜尚奖(Prix Marcel Duchamp)。

通过他的艺术作品,卡德尔·阿提亚将我们带入伴随着失落与剥夺历史的骄傲与反抗的双重困境之中。在此,他试图揭示一个矛盾:21世纪的困境,它残留着对现代主义那被污染、腐烂的文明不满的迷恋,与当代崇尚卫生、超越接触状态的英雄主义相对立。他充满政治色彩的作品引导我们注意到伤害与修复之间的循环性冲突。当今从阿富汗、利比亚、伊拉克和叙利亚逃难至法国及其他欧洲城市的难民,他们失去肢体、身受重创,不仅象征着社会秩序的破裂,还展现了几个世纪宗教冲突与工业剥削所留下的心理病理学疤痕。过去秘密背后的幽灵若被压抑,只会释放出更多的鬼魂和幻影般的记忆。

卡德尔·阿提亚的艺术作品在执行上坚决物质化,但却极具概念性,为公众提供了在政治、社会与认知领域之间的动态纽带。人类学、神经科学和医学的规范性框架被扭曲成一种新的诗意牵引力。不像 Guillaume Apollinaire 的象形诗或 Pierre Albert-Birot 在“Nous sommes des circonférences”(我们是圆周)中的写作,甚至像 Lou Reed 在“I’ll be your mirror”中的歌词那样,Attia 的作品对语言、图像和体积进行着无休止的手术。他在艺术中对幻肢的概念介于 Paul Valéry 的“模糊物体”和 Marcel Duchamp 的“现成品”之间。Valéry 的诗意不确定性模糊了自然与文化的界限,让物体处在未知的边缘。与之对比,杜尚的作品是可互换的,工业化制造且本质上是匿名的。相反地,对于卡德尔·阿提亚而言,被修复的物体依然是一个器官。它展示了自身形态的活跃DNA、归属的印记以及时间流逝的诗意刻痕。

因此,卡德尔·阿提亚作为艺术家的实践,谈及了对美学和心理失衡的强烈关注,关注着由完美与消费主义的意识形态所创造的失衡。无论我们是在凝视那些只能反射部分影像的钉合镜片,还是在思考一辆装配了纸板底盘的滑板车,阿提亚都指向了定义我们这一紧密相连的后殖民现状的意识形态缺陷与物质破损。他的装置作品看似光滑连贯,他的物体诱人且完美,但他以敏锐的感受力表达了历史扭曲的困扰和个人记忆破裂的方式,使他的作品集既具时代性、严谨性,又充满诗意。
