邱志杰于1969年出生在中国福建省漳州。
作为艺术家,邱志杰以他的书法和水墨画、摄影、视频、装置和表演作品而闻名。他的艺术代表了一种新型的实验性沟通,融合了中国文人传统与当代艺术、社会参与和艺术的自我解放力量。
作为艺术评论家,邱志杰出版了多部著作,包括《图像与后现代主义》(2002年)、《给我一个面具》(2003年)、《自由的极限》(2003年)、《摄影之后的摄影》(2004年)、《论全艺术》(2012年)。
他的作品目录包括:《打破冰封》(2009年)、《时间的形状》(2007年)、《记忆的考古学》(2006年)等。
他还于1996年策划了中国首个视频艺术展,并在1999年至2005年期间策划了一系列后感性展览,推广了中国年轻一代艺术家。2012年,他担任第九届上海双年展“再激活”的首席策展人;2017年,他是第57届威尼斯双年展中国馆的首席策展人。
由于《南京长江大桥项目》的作品,他曾入围古根海姆基金会颁发的雨果·博斯奖。他在2009年获得中国艺术奖的年度艺术家奖,并于2016年被提名同一奖项。
他的作品被全球主要博物馆和机构收藏,包括纽约的古根海姆博物馆、大都会艺术博物馆、旧金山亚洲艺术博物馆、路易·威登基金会、克里斯汀·迪奥基金会、尤伦斯基金会、柏林新艺术协会和悉尼的白兔画廊。

邱志杰:全方位艺术,融合不同哲学并考虑泛文化体系的文化新意义
邱志杰于1969年出生在中国福建省漳州。他是概念艺术和新媒体领域的领军人物。这位艺术家、作家、策展人和教师因其“全方位艺术”的思想和实践而获得了全球的高度评价,这种艺术形式从各种哲学和思想体系中创造出新的文化意义。邱志杰的初期探索为多媒体装置艺术奠定了基础,这些作品使用有机材料、古老和发现的物件、摄影和视频,常常结合干预和表演。
自2010年左右起,邱志杰开始绘制他社会学、哲学、文化、政治和认识论研究的想象网络。作为一位高超的书法家、墨画家和风景制图师,邱志杰受委托为纽约古根海姆博物馆的“1989年后的艺术与中国”展览创作了《世界剧场地图》(2017)。在目前我们北京画廊展出的《中阿地图》中,邱志杰继续进行他的“全球映射计划”。这一项目使艺术家通过大型、详细且美丽的地图“绘制世界”。这些地图中,政治、宗教、神话和社会以及思想、关系、物品和文化等主题相互交织,提供了一种理解它们之间关系的不同方式,最终揭示了我们彼此之间的关系。
邱志杰也是一位知名的艺术作家和策展人,他策划了重要的展览,如2012年上海双年展和2017年威尼斯双年展。他是中央美术学院实验艺术学院的院长和教授,同时也是中国美术学院新媒体艺术学院的教授。
