奇奇·史密斯:擅长表现人体和自然世界的大师

 

奇奇·史密斯是一位以使用多种材料而闻名的艺术家;她的作品涉及玻璃、石膏、陶瓷、青铜,以及绘画、刺绣、印刷和各种纺织技法。史密斯早期的作品特别关注人体的表现。她通过表现身体的碎片化,无论是内在还是外在,及其与周围世界的关系,掌握了对人体的表现,并展示了其重要性。因此,她在考虑女性形态方面成为了极其熟练的艺术家,赋予其尊严与脆弱。她的作品中经常包含自然图像——鸟类、动物和宇宙。特别是鸟类,象征着自然的脆弱性,同时也传达了一种共享的精神性和宗教感。史密斯常常在作品中探讨童年的经历,通过重新阐释神话和传说,暗示观众熟悉的叙事和故事。
